Boer Goat Course

The Boer Goat Course is an opportunity for American Boer goat breeders to learn more about selection of the Boer goat by phenotype. That means it is based upon what the animal looks like prior to considering its genetic make up, by pedigree.
2024 our official instructors and judges are Mr. Anton Ward, Roger McSwain, Ms. Kathy Daves-Carr, and assisted by Rico Zaldivar. These are professionals within the Boer goat industry, and some of the most well respected and influential Boer Goat judges. This is your opportunity to learn directly from them, hands-on, in conversation. Sign up today and secure your spot, they are limited.
The first 15 signed up will receive a Special work book created for the course.
Those that complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from the Meat Goat Society. You may take a Judges exam at the conclusion of the course to see what you have learned.
This opportunity, on May 29 & 30th, is every breeder's chance to learn how to select and cull their Boer meat goat stock.

These Boer goat courses were offered many years ago and we have worked hard to provide a learning opportunity for breeders in America.
With the rapid growth in new goat "breeders" we felt it was important to provide this type of learning opportunity and we are appreciative of the support from professionals across the country.

Enter your stock in the Boer Goat Congress, May 31. Evaluations begin at 1:00 pm. Enter your stock today! One entry may be Buck, Doe, Doe & Kid(s), or three yearlings as a group. Registered and unregistered stock. Composite classes. This is a phenotype evaluation. All goats are divided by color, sex, and tooth rules apply. Registered and unregistered stock may enter.
Please add the pen fees associated with your entry. You may pre-order shavings and pay at time of pick up.

The Boer Goat Congress is a opportunity for breeders to have their stock evaluated by qualified Boer Goat judges in an atmosphere that allows the breeder to watch from the stands and looking at all stock in the arena. The stock is separated by:
coat color
sex
age
all milk tooth stock being weighed and grouped within 10 pounds
Breeders will see stock compared by age. Please classify your animal by the tooth rules. Check your animals teeth prior to entering the tooth-classes.
