In 2020, the Missouri State Fair Foundation offered a “First Time Grant” to children in the state of Missouri.
To encourage young people to pursue agriculture, the Missouri State Fair Foundation began a First Time Youth Livestock Exhibitors Grant to the youth of Missouri who want to exhibit livestock at the Missouri State Fair for the first time. To further contribute, the Midwest Buck Sale, Youth Committee added a entry for each of the children, with goats, that were “first timer” scholarship recipients to be part of the Youth Goat Camp with Terry Burks.
Exhibiting Livestock comes with lots of hard work and extra expenses. It is helpful to the kids to have this Grant opportunity to launch them forward into future competition and valuable life experiences. These kids are now participating in raising funds for the next years Grant Recipients.

The Midwest Buck Sale is a member of the Missouri State Fair Foundation and supports their effort to raise funds for children to continue to learn about livestock and animal husbandry.
The Midwest Buck Sale is not connected to the “First Timer Scholarship” other than donating the “goat” recipients a free entry to the Youth Goat Camp in 2021.
2021 was extended to three days and remained the same price as 2020.
