Boer Goat Course

The Boer Goat Course is an opportunity for American Boer goat breeders to learn more about selection of the Boer goat by phenotype. That means it is based upon what the animal looks like prior to considering its genetic make up, by pedigree.
2025 our official instructors are Mr. Anton Ward with an additional special South African breeder and Judge (to be announced soon), and assisted by Rico Zaldivar. These men are professionals within the Boer goat industry, well respected and influential Boer Goat judges. This is your opportunity to learn directly from them, hands-on, in conversation, and class room training. Sign up today and secure your spot, they are limited.
Everyone will receive a Special work book created for the course.
Those that complete the course will receive a certificate of completion. You may take a Judges exam at the conclusion of the course to see what you have learned.
This opportunity, on May 29-30th (Thursday and Friday). It is every breeder's chance to learn how to select and cull their Boer meat goat stock.

This is our 7th year to provide a learning opportunity for breeders in America. We welcome you to our community.
With the rapid growth in new goat "breeders" we felt it was important to provide this type of learning opportunity and we are appreciative of the support from professionals across the country.

Enter your stock in the Boer Goat Congress, May 31st. Evaluations begin at 9 am. Enter your stock today! One entry may be Buck, Doe, Doe & Kid(s), or three yearlings as a group. There is a Breeder's Herd Award that breeders may enter. All stock in the breeders class must be entered in their respective classes. There are Composite classes for true percentage animals. This is a phenotype evaluation. All goats are divided by color, sex, and tooth rules apply. Registered and unregistered stock may enter.
Please add the pen fees associated with your entry. Please bring your shavings and be sure to follow the health certificate rules.

The Boer Goat Congress is a opportunity for breeders to have their stock evaluated by qualified Boer Goat judges in an atmosphere that allows the breeder to watch from the stands and looking at all stock in the arena. coat color
sex
age
all milk tooth stock being weighed and grouped within 10 pounds
Breeders will see stock compared by age. Please classify your animal by the tooth rules. Check your animals teeth prior to entering the tooth-classes.

Pen
USD $10.00Pen Fee $10 per pen, stock or tack.
When showing Saturday, pens do not have to be cleaned.
Pens must be cleaned if leaving on any other day of the week. If something is in the pen after 3pm on any day, we pay for that pen. Please help us keep costs down by keep isles clean and trash picked up and thrown in the receptacles provided.
Please allow yourself enough space for grooming, milking, etc.
