Learning more about the Boer Goat, regardless of color coat, is important to improve the quality of your herd.  The Boer Goat Congress is a opportunity for breeders to have their stock evaluated by qualified judges.

The stock is separated by coat color, then by sex, then by age, with all milk tooth stock being weighed and grouped within 10 pounds.  This way breeders may see stock that is comparative in age.  Please classify your animal by the tooth rules.

Stock may be registered and unregistered.  Please follow the guidelines for entry, below.

One entry is: Buck, Doe, Doe with Kid(s) on side, or a pen of Three Yearling Does.  Animal may only be entered once.
Boer Goat Congress stock will be evaluated by Anton Ward and Kathy Davis-Carr.

The Meat Goat Society is a member based organization. The members decide what is good for the whole.

The entry fee is $15.00 with a $8.00 pen fee.  Each buck/billy has a pen that separates them, and each breeder uses the middle pen to set up their farm display and information.  The bucks/billies are only near each other by corners, not side by side.  Each breeder may bring their own table and set up a display in the adjoining pen to their buck.
For 2023, we hare a special award for the very best display.  This will also be People's Choice, by ticket voting, 50/50, (ticket purchaser splits 50/50 with youth goat camp fund.)  Display Winner by People's Choice will receive a really nice award. (TBA)

The Boer Goat Course is an opportunity for American Boer goat breeders to learn more about selection of the Boer goat by phenotype. That means it is based upon what the animal looks like prior to considering its genetic make up, by pedigree.

2023 our official instructors and judges are Mr. Anton Ward and Ms. Kathy Daves-Carr.  These are two of the most well respected and influential Boer Goat judges.  This is your opportunity to learn directly from them, hands-on, in conversation.  Sign up today and secure your spot, they are limited.

Each attendee will receive a Work Book and a Book of Standards, created by the instructors, for the course.

Those that complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from the Meat Goat Society.
